In November last year, the #Adityanathgovernment brought an ordinance criminalising religious conversion for the purpose of marriage. But the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Ordinance of 2020, infamously known as the “#lovejihad” law, is essentially being employed as a blunt tool to punish Muslim men, as Newslaundry has found reporting on its implementation on the ground.
